How to wear the playsuit
The playsuit is a big trend in this spring/summer season. It is easy to wear and great for our hot climate. A playsuit in spring’s brightest palette of blues, pinks or yellows will be perfect for a poolside barbeque party, weekends and stroll in the malls. As the weather is quite unpredictable these days and to keep warm in the air-conditioned environment, throw on a crop jacket (see picture, right). You can also wear a studded belt (picture, left) to give it a funky look. Complete the outfit with wedgies or strappy flats and lots of bangles or a cuff. For bags, my choice will be a long strappy leather or chain purse. If you have a curvy shape, then go with a design that is waisted/banded so that your best asset (your waist) is enhanced. If you have a rectangular body shape, then a loose cut like the model in the pink playsuit will be perfect for your shape. Personally, I will recommend a longer length, say just above the knees or capri-style for those above 40:-)
Girly Girl
Spring’s look is soft, fluid, feminine and romantic. Hence, the ruffled blouse is a staple look for spring. If you have soft curves, this style will suit you well. Can you wear ruffles to work? Absolutely! However, do pared it down with a fitted no fuss skirt or sleek trousers. Wearing a ruffled top with a frilly skirt will make you look frumpy, outdated and over-girlish for work. Keep ruffled printed tops for casual weekends if your workplace has a stricter dress code. A ruffled blouse is a good camouflage for smaller chested women and for the more well-endowed, choose a V or U-shape neckline with softer fabric to avid looking frumpy. If you are concerned that you may look too girlie for your comfort level, go for a crisp looking shirt with small ruffle detailing and pair it with men’s trousers.
All Clogged Up!
Start off on the right foot with this spring/summer’s hot new trend: clogs! The new runway version comes in higher heels for a sleeker look.

Clogs have been around for ages and they were a popular footwear during the hippie era in the 1970′s. For an updated look, wear it with minis, tailored shorts, rolled up jeans or cropped pants. Go for a neutral colour like beige, black or brown. I personally find it cute and comfortable but if you are not sure about the high heel, go for one that is more comfortable for your liking like this pair (bottom, right) I got from Quintessential (SGD$130).
