Challenge: Very dry skin
Due to an active outdoor lifestyle, my skin is very dry and oily around the T-zone area. Hence,
it is difficult for my makeup to stay on for a longer time as I perspire a lot being outdoors. So, the only
makeup I use is lipstick.
Solution: Women who spend a lot of time outdoors or in the sun need to take extra care for their skin.
Constant exposure to the sun without any face protection like sunblock and moisturiser will eventually damage
the skin. First of all, Melissa cleansed, toned and moisturised Rebecca’s skin and applied eye cream on her.
Then she used a face primer to minimise the pores and to ensure that the makeup stayed longer. Melissa then
applied mineral foundation on Rebecca’s face and camouflaged the red blotches on her skin with yellow-toned
concealer. Loose mineral powder was applied to set the foundation. Then Melissa used eye primer on the
eyelids before applying the eyeshadow to give the eye makeup lasting power. A coral cheek colour was used to brighten up Rebecca’s face. Melissa
blended two lip colours; red and nude to create a sophisticated and natural looking lip colour.
Rebecca’s verdict: During my makeover Melissa was meticulous in cleansing, toning and moisturizing my skin so that
my skin. I learnt some new tips like the benefits of using primer to keep my makeup on longer. She was also
very good in blending makeup colours. Melissa's artistic eye and understanding of personal colouring were
certainly an advantage as she chose the most suitable colours for my skin tone.

Challenge: Uneven eyes
My double eyelid on the right is more prominent than my left eyelid, thus making my eyes appear
uneven. How can make it balanced?
Solution: Melissa used eyeliner to balance both eyes by extending the left upper eyelid slightly. Then,
using the darkest eyeshadow, Melissa applied it all over the eyelid to soften the look. Next, she applied a
lighter shade on top of the dark shadow and blended the two lines that met for a smoky effect. Melissa also
lined the lower lids to balance the eyes and to draw attention away from the upper lids.
Nancy’s verdict: My eyes really looked more balanced now. I have never lined my lower eyelids before and I am
pleasantly surprised by its positive effect. The smoky look certainly makes my eyes more
expressive.

Challenge: Dark circles
The dark circles under my eyes are making me look tired and dull. How can I get rid of
them?
Solution: Melissa advised that besides getting enough sleep and rest, a good concealer would minimise the
dark circles. She first applied foundation all over the face and
the eye area as well. Then using a mineral concealer, she mixed two different shades of the concealer to
obtain the closest shade to Clarabelle’s skintone and dabbed it under the eyes. She finished it off with a mineral illuminator to lighten the undereye
area.
Clarabelle’s verdict: I realized that putting on makeup is not so difficult after all. I love my makeup; it is very
natural looking and brings out the best features of my face which are my eyes.

Melissa was very professional throughout the entire session. She did a great
job, especially with my eye make-up, the blending technique of the eye colours was good as it harmonized
appropriately, and it also complimented my tanned skin tone too. She also explained the different steps as to
how make-up should be applied and the appropriate skin care procedures, to maintain the skin condition to be
as optimal as possible for smooth make-up application.
