Woman of Style

There were so much fun and lively sharing between the ladies at our recent Woman of Style workshops. A total of nine ladies attended the two style sessions on finding their fashion personality and how to bring out their best look through the right clothing style, colour and accessories.  The sessions were packed with fun activities like grouping accessories according to the seven universal fashion styles, identifying each person’s face shape and finding out the meaning of colours.

Vera and Joanne are the two luckiest girls in the world. Vera’s mom, Madam Janet Chua, felt that it would be a special birthday treat for the girls to have their personal colour analysis done. Great idea for all you moms out there if you are thinking of birthday gifts for your girls!:-)  

Vera and Joanne are best friends and they both have different personalities. It turned out that their season colours are also quite the polar opposite of each other. Well, as they say, opposites attract!

Personal Image Makeover 

"Before I met Melissa, dressing up is just a routine to me and image is non-existent in my life. Working in a male-dominated property development company, my dressing style tends to be dull, safe and unattractive. My typical “uniform” would be plain or printed boxy tops with cropped pants in dull colours. When I go shopping for clothes, I always end up buying the same style.

Melissa first taught me about colours and body shape. I was most amazed about learning what types of clothes and design are best suited for my body shape. After the style analysis, I realised that my wardrobe was full of clothes that neither flatter my figure and nor bring out my personality. Melissa also taught me how to choose the right accessories to compliment my shape and size. But most of all, Melissa has made me learn to appreciate and accept my own body and brought out my personality through my clothes and dressing style.

I feel confident and beautiful now. Melissa has an excellent and unique eye for details that have helped me stand out from the crowd in a corporate environment.

Having just graduated and entered employment, I was clueless to the rules of “Smart Casual” and “Dress Down Fridays”. To me, “Smart Casual” meant jeans and a nice blouse, while the latter meant freedom to wear as I would, strolling down Orchard Road.
